Baptism at Eltham Park

These take place on Sunday mornings as part of our normal service.   The Methodist Church offers baptism for babies and children, as well as adults, and in the case of children, a warm welcome into the family of the church is part of the  ceremony. We enjoy baptisms at Eltham Park – they are always very happy occasions.

Messy Church

What is Messy Church?

Messy Church is a church for adults and children to enjoy together.

It’s all-age.
It’s fun.

Its aim is to introduce Jesus, to give an opportunity to encounter him and to grow closer to him.
It usually includes some creative time to explore the biblical theme through getting messy and a celebration time which might involve story, prayer, song or games.

A Poem of Reflection: Bereavement

If a man’s life is three score and ten,

Then he should look to nature now and then,

A falling leaf will replenish the soil,

So it’s not a waste of labour’s toil,

And if a man’s life is honest and good,

Then like a leaf to create new wood

Somebody dies, somebody will mourn,

But we must make room for somebody born,

Young trees need room to shoot and sprout

And people need room to move about,

So if you lose a friend or kin

Remember it’s from death that life will begin.
